The 2023 Buganda and Kabaka cup scheduled to kick off next week starting on Friday, 30, June at different venues.
According to the draws held on Saturday 24 June at Lubiri high school for Kampala and Wakiso zone for both Buganda and Kabaka cup saw school Kampala schools football giants Kawempe Muslim SS and Gombe high School Kawala pitted in the same.
Sheikh Sulaiman Matovu, one of the tournament official, while addressing the journalist said, “that any team that will be caught using ineligible players will be banned for one or more year without participating in the tournament and player will face life ban. “In addition for a player to play in this year’s Buganda cup is must have sat PLE in 2016 above and present the original passlip.
The draws for Buganda cup were as follows;
Group A
Elite High school, Entebbe
Uganda Martyrs high, Rubaga
Cityland college, Matugga
St. Raphael ss
This group will be played on Saturday, 1, July at Elite High, Entebbe.
Group B
Agro Links Academy, Namasuba
Alliance high, Nansana
Happy hours, Kazo
Green Light high, Nansana
This group will be played on Saturday, 1, July at Lufuka.
Group C
Light secondary and Vocational, Bulenga
Life college, Kitagobwa
Kalinabbiri ss
Devine college
This group will be played on Sunday, 2, July at at Kitezi.
Group D
Stena high, Lukuli
Gombe high, Kawala
Kawempe Muslims
Kazo hill
This group will be played on Sunday, 2, July at Kawempe Muslim.
Meanwhile the Kabaka draws for primary schools U-14 were also follows;

This group will be played on Friday, 30, June at St John’s Wakiso.
And in U-16 category, only three teams have registered so far, these are; Kampala Grammar, Bukhari and Anna Marie.
Kawempe Muslim are the defending champions of Buganda cup, New ABC are the defending champion for U-16, Kampala Grammar is the defending champion for U-14 , St Janan is the defending champion for S1 and S2 and Uganda Martyrs high, Rubaga is the defending champion for girls football.
Other zones apart from Kampala and Wakiso will also play in their respective zones and a school to play in this tournament, must be within the boundaries of Buganda Kingdom.
