The candidate for Dokolo by-election on the NRM ticket, Janet Adongo Rose Elau, is optimistic and confident that she will beat her opponents to win the race. Adongo said today in a media interview during her campaigns in Adeknimo Sub County in Dokolo South County.
“I have received a warm reception throughout the areas I have visited so far, and I expect even more in other areas going forward. The voters are positive about my message and are so engaged with me. I also receive their concerns and promise to address them when elected into office next week,”Adongo said.
She added that with reinforcement from my party leader and President Yoweri Museveni, my support will shoot higher for those who have yet to make up their minds.
Elau said that the concerns of the fishing communities that are denied fishing by the security, yet fishing is their primary source of livelihood, shall be addressed.
Adongo and her team campaigned today in several parishes of Kangai subcounty, Adeknimo, and Kangai subcounty.
Hon. Felix Okot Ogong, the Dokolo South Member of Parliament, said from his assessment that the NRM party flagbearer will take the day if all supporters turn up to vote next week on Thursday.
He said the NRM has performed well in terms of service delivery in the district. It has extended clean water, electricity, and good roads into many of the villages.
Ogong also advised the fishing communities to avoid depleting the lake by using substandard nets to catch even immature fish. “It is the only sustainable way of ensuring a stable income,” he said.
Dokolo district is made up of 11 subcounties and 3 town councils.
