Two teams chasing Bayern München for the Bundesliga title face off on Saturday at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK as Union Berlin take on Borussia Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund sit in second place on 53 points, two points behind first-placed Bayern München, while Union Berlin are placed third on 51 points as the sides occupy two of the four Champions League spots with eight matches left. Fifth-placed RB Leipzig, the first club outside of the tournament spots, are six points back from Union.

Dortmund were defeated 4-2 in their last Bundesliga match at Allianz Arena against Bayern München, snapping a 10-match undefeated run (W9 D1 L0). Union Berlin’s last league match saw them triumph 3-0 over Stuttgart at home to extend their unbeaten streak to four (W2 D2 L0).

When the two sides last met in Bundesliga action, Union Berlin came out on top 2-0 at Stadion An der Alten Försterei in October. Janik Haberer led Union with goals in the eighth and 21st minute.

Looking at players who have made a difference this season, Dortmund have been indebted to Julian Brandt, Marco Reus, and Youssoufa Moukoko. Brandt is the team’s top scorer with eight goals, followed by Reus and Moukoko with six each.

Sheraldo Becker and Kevin Behrens have been Union Berlin’s main attacking threats, netting eight and six times, respectively.

Hosts Dortmund have been formidable at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK this season with 10 wins, one draw, and just one loss in 12 Bundesliga contests. Dortmund will be out to prolong a 10-match home unbeaten streak (W9 D1 L0) dating to September 2022 against Hoffenheim. Union Berlin have six wins, two draws, and five losses away from home this season in league matches.

In their last six league matches, Dortmund have won four, drawn one and lost one. Union Berlin, meanwhile, have won two, drawn three and lost one in their last six.
