Duke of Edinburgh visits Buganda Kingdom

The Duke of Edinburg from the United Kingdom Prince Edward Antony Richard Louis has visited the Buganda Kingdom Cabinet being led by the Kingdom Premier Owek Charles Peter Mayiga in Mengo.

Being accompanied by the United Kingdom Ambassador in Uganda Kate Airey with other people, the Prince was welcomed by Prince David Kintu Wasajja, Nalinnya Agnes Nabaloga and Prince Crispine Jjunju.

The organisation of the Duke of Edinburgh international awards have partnered with Buganda Kingdom under the plans of skilling the youth in different developmental aspects.

During the signing of the contract, the Kingdom was represented by the CEO of the Buganda investment department BICUL, Roland Sebuufu being witnessed by the Minister of sports and talents in the Kingdom Owek Robert Sserwanga Salongo and the United Kingdom was represented by Prince Duke of Edinburgh William Blick being witnessed by Aisha Wamala.

Addressing Prince Edward and his team, Owek Mayiga noted that Buganda has gone through different challenges ever since it acquired its independence but Ugandans have hope that the future may be brighter and Prince Edward also has hope in the youth that they can do better in life.

Owek Mayiga expressed hope in the Duke of Edinburgh international awards partnership as it is to benefit the youth in different aspects of life especially in technology.

Duke of Edinburgh is Queen Elizabeth’s second child and he came to Uganda on Monday 18/03/2024
