Emma Okwi joins Egyptian club Al Ittihad.

Uganda Cranes forward Emmanuel Arnold Okwi has joined Egyptian side Al ittihad Alexandria Club.

The Egyptian topflight side beat United Arab Emirates side Fujairah FC and other clubs from South Africa and Saudi Arabia to Okwi’s signature.

Okwi was Uganda Cranes top scorer at the 2019 continental showpiece with two goals. He scored against the Democratic Republic of Congo during Cranes’ 2-0 win and against Zimbabwe in the 1-1 setlemate.

The forward has been a free agent following expiration of his employment contract at Tanzania side, Simba Sports Club.

He has previously featured at SC Villa, Tanzania sides Simba and Yanga, Tunisia’s Etoile Du Sahel and SonderjyskE Fodbold of Denmark.

His new club was founded on August 14th 1914, 104 years ego. They are based in port Alexandria city.

Last season, Helmy Toulan coached side finished 11th on the table of 18 teams.

Okwi joins Abdul Lumala (Pyramids FC), Khalid Aucho (Misr El Makkasa) and Derrick Nsibambi El Masry, as other Ugandans plying their trade in Egypt.
