Faridah Nakazibwe is set to concentrate on her private business after quitting NTV Uganda where she has worked since September 2006, MS News Uganda has learnt.

Nakazibwe, who has been anchoring the Luganda news bulletin, NTV Akawungeezi, and Mwasuze Mutya show, threw in the towel last week, with her last show being on Friday 27th September 2023.

While this website has not been privy to the actual reasons for her resignation from the Nation Media Group company, sources close to her say that she has decided to concentrate on private work, including growing her own brand.

Nakazibwe already runs SMILE Nakazibwe Foundation that helps needy families and also organizes events.
And following her graduation with a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Victoria University recently, she is said to favour self-employment.

At NTV, Nakazibwe is to be replaced by Ruth Kalibbala Bwanika who hosted the Mwasuze Mutya show on Monday morning.
The 39-year-old Nakazibwe was born to the late Shakib Ssenyonjo and Sarah Ssenyonjo, in what is present-day Sembabule District.

She attended Kisozi Boarding Primary School, in Gomba District and Bwala Primary School in Masaka. She also studied at Taibah High School, in Kawempe, where she obtained her High School Diploma. She then went on to the Islamic University in Uganda, in Mbale, graduating with a Bachelor of Mass Communication.

She previously worked at the now defunct WBS Television as a reporter. Two years later, she transferred to NTV Uganda.

Nakazibwe was married to Omar Ssali but they parted ways sometime in 2020. She is the mother of two daughters, whose father is Engineer Dan Nankunda whom she met at the defunct WBS Television. For a period of less than one year, Nakazibwe was alleged to have had a temporary romantic relationship with Al Hajji Moses Kigongo, the vice chairperson of the ruling National Resistance Movement political party in Uganda, she ended that relationship sometime in 2015.
