FAU AGM recognize Betpawa, Newmans Snacks as Sponsors while FUFA assuring them for much support.

The Futsal association in Uganda has successfully helds annual general meeting with thankful recognition for Sponsors Betpawa and Newmans’ Snacks as FUFA gives promise for much Support.

During the AGM held at Kenandia Hotel Kampala on Wednesday 18 September 2024, The association passed a budget of over 100 millions shillings to oversee Futsal engagements during 2024/2025.

Federation of Uganda football Associations representative Sam Mpiima in his words, promised for more continuous support to the game of Futsal from FUFA.

“Don’t be much worried, I promise you that FUFA will increase support towards FAU in the next few years as we have this game in our minds. We will support in any way possible, this game can continue producing finest talents in the Pearl of Africa.” the FUFA Executive committee Secretary for governance stated.

Also the Assembly passed resolutions of admitting four new Futsal teams as members in QC Mbarara, Busunju Sparks, Crown Lubiri, and Kabuusu.

The future of indoor football version (Futsal) in Uganda is much alive owing to the level of organization (strategies), programs, and competitions by the Futsal Association Uganda (FAU).

The sport is arguably one of the fastest-growing in the football sub-sector since 2015.

The AGM was aimed by FAU to fulfill the statutory requirements of holding the annual meeting prior to the FUFA General Assembly slated for October.

It has been the FAU’s third Annual General Assembly Meeting (AGM) and was led by association’s chairperson Hamzah Jjunju,

The AGM was graced by FUFA Executive Committee Secretary for Governance Sam Mpima with FAU executive committee, Futsal Club representatives, FUFA representatives, the media, Futsal Association Uganda member associations, Futsal Players Association, Futsal Referees Association, and Futsal Coaches Association appearing the attendance.

While giving his remarks FAU Chairman Hamzah Jjunju stated that

“We must start with the basics in order to grow the Futsal game in Uganda, and I urge all our club chairmen and CEOs to develop all their stakeholders for this great cause.”

“This is a journey we are in together, and I call upon all club owners and administrators to develop the governance aspect of the game so we can improve on the global level.” Jjunju added

The chair also commended all the different personalities who have grown with this indoor sport, hinting at the major focus on the development of this game as Futsal development, Futsal Competitions, Marketing & Promotion, Professionalization, Leadership, as well as Social Impact.

Sponsors including betPawa Uganda and Newmans’ Snacks were thanked for their contributions towards the growth of the sport in the past seasons.
