FDC hopeful of retaining the Dokolo District Woman MP seat

After unveiling Dr. Alwoc Rosemary Ogwal, daughter to the late Cecilia Ogwal for Dokolo District Woman MP, forum for Democratic Change has hope that the party is capable of winning this seat since the it has engaged in an intense internal process to harmonise on the candidature of Dr. Rosemary Alwoc.

The Bi elections to fill the seat of the Dokolo woman MP seat due to take place on 21/03/2024 has called for Fdc’s efforts in preparing their candidate through different engagements such a meetings Led by the party Deputy President in the Eastern region Margret Wokuri Madanda, Fdc Deputy Treasurer general Hon. Attan Moses Okia among other national leaders to discuss means of making successful campaigns for the party candidate.

Addressing the press at part headquarters in Najjanankumbi on 19/02/2024, the Deputy Secretary for Publicity, publication and documentation Mulindwa Walid Lubega noted “We believe we have a competent candidate that will enable the Party to win this elections.

The FDC top leadership led by Party President Hon. Amuriat Oboi are also reaching out to other opposition stakeholders in a bid to request them to support the FDC candidate.”

Walid added that the leadership also met with opinion leaders in Dokolo who affirmed their support and are now on ground to mobilise for Dr. Rosemary Alwoc as this gives them more hope towards winning the seat.

In the same way, Fdc expresses dissatisfaction over the duplication of MDAs as it continues to affect the implantation of Government projects as coordination becomes impossible in some instances.

According to Walid, The FDC welcomes the decision to rationalize state Ministry Departments and Agencies but in a phased manner based on priority areas and calls upon Parliament to request from the ministry of public service a comprehensive phase by phase strategies to fast track the rationalization of MDAs to eliminate redundancies in the medium term, reduce the cost of running Government and improve efficiency.
