The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party launched its presidential campaigns in the Lango sub-region today, touring Amolatar and Dokolo districts.

The party’s presidential candidate, Nathan Nandala Mafabi, and party president, Patrick Amuriat Oboi, addressed rallies at Namasele Primary School, Amolator Town Council, Awelo, Kangai and Cwagwere with a main rally in Dokolo town, urging voters to support their bid for change.

The FDC leadership expressed disappointment over the exclusion of Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) presidential candidate Jimmy Akena from the race, citing government interference.

People of Lango praise Akena and see him as a symbol of his late father’s legacy.

Mafabi, however, emphasized his connection to the Lango region, having studied at Busoga College Mwiri, the same school attended by the late Dr. Milton Obote.

He highlighted his suitability for the presidency, citing his long-held UPC ideologies and commitment to improving the lives of Ugandans.

Amuriat Oboi echoed Mafabi’s sentiments, describing him as the best candidate to transform the country from poverty and suffering.

The duo outlined their party manifesto, promising to recover stolen funds to improve healthcare, education, infrastructure, and reduce taxes.

The campaigns featured rallies in Amolatar and Dokolo districts, including a ritual blessing for Mafabi at Amolator Town Council.

The FDC leaders urged voters to support their candidate in the forthcoming general elections
