Forum for Democratic Change has appealed to people of Dokolo to support the party so that it wins the Dokolo woman MP position in parliament.
Fdc which has fronted its candidate Dr. RoseMary Alwoc Ogwal is looking at retaining this seat with the late Hon Cecilia Ogwal’s daughter who was their member.
After Dr. RoseMary Ogwal being nominated today on 11/03/2024, the party plans to have a meeting with the Electoral Commission and other candidates to harmonize their campaign program, which will be released later on.
Addressing the press during the party’s weekly press briefing at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi, the party spokesperson John Kikonyogo expressed concern over plans by one of their opponents to disorganised the voters’ minds to mislead them into voting against fdc, but the party has hope that the people of Dokolo will vote for them.
“We are aware that the Junta is planning to deploy money, weapons, and security services in this campaign in order to overthrow the will of the people, but our trust lies in the support of the people of Dokolo, who have stood by us in our quest to liberate our country.” He emphasised
However, Kikonyogo expressed dissatisfied over the parliament’s failure to fight against mismanagement of the tax payers money which it would have done through declining to allocate further funds to such sources.
This came at a time when Auditor General released a report regarding the Shs 15 billion Goat Roll-Out project that was implemented in 7 districts where the Ministry of Agriculture imported 71 goats at a cost of Shs 528 million.
According to the report, Shs7.3 million was spent on each goat, yet the majority of them died within the first week after distribution and many of the purchased goats were sick and malnourished. Fdc therefore demands that urgent action be taken against any individuals who mismanage public funds and held accountable for their actions.
Meanwhile, during this month’s of Ramathan, Fdc urged Muslims to join hands with Christians to pray for the country.
