FDC Party leaders spent the New Year’s Eve trekking through Mt. Elgon National Park in Buduuda District

The Party President Hon. Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat and Secretary General Rt. Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi flagged off the 30km walk which set off at Mt. Inn Makweta.

The trekking attracted both local and political leaders from the Elgon region and among the walkers included Mr. Milton Khamoto the Bududa LCV Chairman and Hon. Isaiah Sasaga MP for Budadiri East.

The trek was organised to raise funds to build classroom blocks for Arlington Academy and Masaba Secondary School both from Buduuda District. In the fundraising drive over 70million Shillings was collected.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat urged Ugandans to embrace, appreciate and preserve our country’s heritage.

On his part, the Secretary General Hon. Nandala Mafabi emphasized that the funds collected will serve two crucial purposes that is, renovation of Masaba SS, a very significant educational institution and the construction works of Arlington Academy of hope schools.

On behalf of the Party, Hon. Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat contributed 5million Shillings, Hon. Nandala Mafabi contributed 20million Shillings, Nandala foundation contributed 5million Shillings and Hon. Sasaga contributed 2milion among others.
