
The FDC Party President, Hon. Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat, alongside other global political leaders, are attending the International Democracy Union (IDU) Forum Meeting taking place in AutoWorld – Brussels, Belgium capital.
Among the reasons for this meeting is to adress issues to do with infrastructure, economy, freedom, democracy, rule of law, human trafficking, migration and among others.
The IDU is a global alliance that brings together over 84 political parties that subscribe to centre right political philosophy and ideology with its headquarters in Munich – Germany.
In the ongoing IDU Forum meeting the African Political Parties under the auspice of Democracy Union of Africa (DUA) led by Ms. Louisa Attagyemung and Our Party leader Hon. Amuriat, took the case of incarcerated African opposition leaders; Dr. Kizza Besigye and Tundu Lissu the Chadema Party leader to the IDU forum demanding their release from detention. They also highlighted concerns about the shrinking political space in Africa.
The event also hosted former UK Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Liz Truss who represented the Conservative Party. In her presentation, she emphasized support for freedom, democracy, and human dignity. Other speakers who addressed the Forum included; Hon. Stephen Harper the Prime Minister of Canada, H. E Nana Addo Dankwa the former President of Ghana and H. E Dr. Mahmood Bawumia former Vice President of Ghana among others.

FDC Party President Patrick Oboi Amuriat is attending the IDU Forum in Belgium to foster global partnerships, promote democratic change, and strengthen ties between FDC and our international allies.
