FDC Party to continue resolving the conflicts within the party

The opposition party, Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) will continue with their peacefull talks with the party diverted members as a way of resolving the ongoing conflicts within the party so that the party gets to normal running of its business as one.

This comes at a time when the party has currently been going through different conflicts that has divided party members into two groups’ one group belongs to Katonga road faction led by president Erias Lukwago and the Najjanankumbi faction led by President Patrick Amuriat Oboi at the party headquarters at Najjanankumbi.

In this way, the party, decided to hold a retreat in an effort to train its party leaders on different aspects of running their party matters, conflicts resolution being a major issue. This retreat was majorly for top party leaders, NEC members, Women leaders, and the youth leaders.

The 3 days retreat which took place from 10th -12th November 2023 in Nabinonya, was aimed at equipping top leaders with the goals and objectives of the party, leadership ethics, personal conduct and communication skills and laying strategies for the next 5 years to lead the party in the right direction.

Leaders were equipped with the knowledge on how to manage conflicts within the party and find means of resolving them and as well managing and handling any conflicts that the party may face at any time.

Addressing the press at party Headquarters in Najjanankumbi, the party spokesperson John Kikonyogo noted that they have already started the move of engaging X party members  individually to find means of resolving the ongoing conflicts that are tarnishing the party’s image into the public eyes.

He added that they have full hopes that the party conflicts will be resolved as the few talks they have had with some of the members from the party rebel group indicates some hope for conflict resolution.

However, Kikonyogo empahsised that FDC and NUP have no differencies but they are working together to fight for Human rights especially of the opposition members in prison.
