Forum for Democratic Change Party has held Christmas Carols ahead of the National council which is to be held tomorrow on 15/12/2023 as it is one of the steps set to bring back the party into normal operations and harmony among members.

This function took place at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi and party members from different parts of the country attended.

This has come during the time when the party has two different factions which was caused due to party internal conflicts but the Najjanankumbi faction is devising means to see that the conflicts that created the gap between the two factions are resolved for the party to get back to its normal operations as one.

In an interview with the press, Vice chairperson FDC Western Uganda and former member of parliament for Kasese Municipality Robert Centinary expressed that the Christmas Carols are a norm for FDC as they prepare themselves for the festive season every year.

Centinary noted that since the party has got representation from the entire country, they found it prudent to start with the Christmas Carols as a precursor for the National Council under the Theme overcoming the storm in focusing on party unity and growth.

He added that the Najanankumbi faction is very willing to receive and welcome their lost members back to the party as it now focuses on reconciliation, unity and party building so that by 2024, the party will be running smoothly without any conflicts.

Meanwhile Centinary revealed some of the activities to be discussed during the National Council such as passing a number of resolutions on how the party is going to move forward, there are a number of pending issues like districts that never participated into elections, making key decisions and resolutions that will allow the leadership of the party and the administrators to run the party. Therefore the council meeting is to give a green light for all party activities to take place within the law.
Christmas Carols were organised by the Party Secretary for culture Ethics and Integrity and different choirs performed. Additionally different party organs attended the carols including the Women league, Youth league, district Chairpersons.
