Female Coach Mbekeka to take charge of Premier League side on interim basis.

Olivier Mbekeka will be the first Female Uganda Premier League club’s Head Coach.

When newly promoted Lugazi FC faceoff against Express FC on Tuesday 22nd October 2024 at the Hamz stadium.

There will be one more note added to the top flight’s record books. For the first time,in Uganda UPL history a Uganda premier league club will be coached by a lady.

Former Uganda women’s national team player Oliver Mbekeka will be in charge of Lugazi, she was handed the role following the departure of Sadiq Ssempigi

He has however not had results going his way, a draw against SC Vipers and another against Mbale heroes which both came at home are the only points he collected, leaving the club at the bottom of the table.

Lugazi has today announced Mbekeka as an interim coach, she has previously coached Lady doves and the U20 women’s national team (Queen Cranes).
