Fire gutted Kasawo Arcade in Mukono Kayunga road, a commercial building houses several businesses on Monday May 1st, 2023 at around 5:00 AM in the morning.
The territorial Police at Mukono was alerted and responded quickly as they arrived at the scene with in few minutes with Fire Prevention and Rescue services and found flames and smoke coming out the building and fight against.
The building, which houses multiple business units, belongs to a prominent businessman, Lawrence Busulwa Kiriggwagyo.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Mr. Luke Owoyesigire said that;
“The incident allegedly occurred at approximately 5:00 AM this morning on a storied building located along Kayunga Road roundabout in Mukono Municipality.
Our teams are working tirelessly to extinguish the fire, and we can confirm that no deaths or injuries have been reported so far.
We urge the public to remain calm and to cooperate with our rescue teams as we work to bring the situation under control.
We will provide more details as soon as the fire is fully extinguished, and the situation is brought under control.
We would like to remind the public to prioritize their safety and to take all necessary precautions to prevent fire outbreaks.
