Fire guts city house building in Kampala

Fire gutted City House building in kampala this morning where the offices of the opposition party Dp are found.

This fire started at around 8:30 am inside the building and many businesses are believed to have been destroyed .

The building which is along 3 roads such as Dusta street, William street and luwum street house shops on the first floor, textile businesses on the ground floor and office outlets and restaurants on the third flow.

Police fire brigade worked hard to see that the fire is stopped and it succeeded shortly and by the afternoon, owners of shops that survived the fire had started re opening them to continue with their normal businesses.

Assistant commissioner of police fire SP Geofrey Okobo noted that police engaged the fire immediately on arrival and they are yet to discover the cause of the fire outbreak.

He added that the fire started in the interior in firm structures and picked up intensity and because of big radiation, it managed to extend to other parts of the building but they were able to contain it.

We were later informed that one person who was not identified yet was found dead in the fire.
