JKL Dolphins continued their fine start to the FUBA National Basketball League (NBL) second round with a victory over Betway Power.

Brian Namake grabbed the headlines, top scoring on the night with 27 points, 20 of which came in the first half.

The Dolphins captain who shot 10-20 from the field was also impressive on the board, registering 6 rebounds and also posting 9 assists.

JKL were impressive from the start, racing into an 8-0 lead inside four minutes. By the end of the first quarter they led 29-23.

In the second, they improved their advantage to 10 points with the scoreboard reading 45-35 at the long break.

Powere powered back in the third, winning it 20-13 to reduce JKL’s lead to just three points heading into the final 10 minutes of the contest.

With 7:24 on the clock, Philip Amany converted one of his two free-throws to level matters at 65 all but from there on-wards, JKL dominated en route to victory.

Brian Mulumba was the other Dolphin to manage double figures in terms of scoring, posting an impressive 23 points on the night. Daniel Monoja also impressed with 11 boards and 9 points.

For Power, Joseph Ikong (17), Philip Amny (18) and Isaac Afidra were all in double figures in terms of scoring.

Victory for JKL, sees them move to a 12-04 record after 16 games and are very much on course for a playoff bearth. Power are now 10-05 in their first 15 games.

In the other game played on Wednesday, Warriors registered a 4th successive victory in the NBL second round as they defeated Sharing 79-56.

Samad Imran registered a double double of 15 points and 13 boards in the winning effort. Substitutes Chris Omany (13) and Jonathan Kambala (12) also posted double digits in terms of scoring while Stanley Mugerwa impressed on the board, picking 12 rebounds.

The victory is Warriors’ 13th in 15 matches and them along with City Oilers remain the only unbeaten sides in the second round.

For Sharing who only had Ceaser Kizito reach double figures with 17 points, they suffered their 10th loss of the season, the second in the second round.
