Fufa dismisses CEO Edgar Eatson’s resignation news.

The chief Executive officer of federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA)Edgar Watson has dismissed media reports that he has resigned from office.

He said the reports are false .

Some online media outlets reported that Watson who has served as chief executive since 2009 had tendered in his resignation awaiting to be appointed the first vice president in charge administration on the FA executive.

The Vice president (Administration position was previously hekd by the Acting FUFA president, Justus Mugisha.

Mugisha was elected to sit in the position last month for the two months FUFA President, Eng Moses Magogo stopped down during the 95th Fufa assembly held at the Multi- west Nile to allow FIFA investigate by the allegations of involving in the illicit trading of 2014 world cup tickets.

The reports further indicates that second vice President Darius Mugoye was to take over as the new CEO.

Using his twitter account Watson said he is carrying on with his duties as FUFA CEO and is not privy to information of his resignation.

“I have seen incorrect information circulating on social media about my position at FUFA. I wish to state thatvI an still doing my work as CEO please disregard any information that is not from my or UFA official forum”, read it Watson’s tweet.

When contacted , FUFA communications Director Ahmed Hussein Marsha also refuted the allegations saying, FUFA CEO is elected into office by the FUFA Assembly for a four year team.

“The Executive of FUFA is elected into office and approved by the Assembly for a four year team. The CEO of FUFA can’t become vice President unless he is a delegate and can not hold both positions of CEO /VP and Delegate”.
