2019 FUFA Awards:

The 2019 FUFA awards has been launched by Fufa president Justus Mugisha on Wednesday 16th October at Serena Hotel Kampala.
This is the fifth edition as the excellent football personalities have been awarded, this time the awards have been dived into 14 categories.
The 2019 FUFA Awards winners will be announced on 14th December 2019 at awarding ceremony that will be held at Speke Resort in Munyonyo.
Fufa president Mr. Justus Mugisha while addressing the media at the launch thanked Airtel for making these awards happen for the fifth year round.
“As Fufa we thank our sponsors for partnering with us and celebrate the excelled talents in Ugandan football, our game being the most loved sport in the world makes it being followed by the majority of the population, Airtel, NIC, ECO Bank, we are grateful to have you on board ever since we came into office, we have seen the game grow together,” Mugisha said.
The period considered started on 7th December 2018 and the closing date will be 14th December 2019.
Coaches of the FUFA Women Elite League nominated their top five candidates for the FUFA Female player of the year 2019.
There will be second round of voting by the coaches and captains for the Male player of the year and Female player of the Year to get the top five.
Coaches of the Uganda Beach Soccer League have also done with the exercise of nominating their top five candidates for the FUFA Beach Soccer player of the year 2019.
Public voting will get underway after release of top five for Male and Female Player of the Year, starting from Thursday 14th November to Saturday 14th December 2019.
For the fifth year running, Airtel Uganda has remained the main sponsors of the awards with a financial kitty of Shs 100M
Mr. Rogers Byamukama, who is the chairman organising committee confirmed also the 2019 FUFA Awards during the launch held at Serena Hotel.
‘We are excited to have these Awards back. This will be the fifth edition running and this time round we have added five more categories. We have added the FUFA Best XI for female, FUFA Women football coach of the year, best squad (Club/National Team) of a particular Year, FUFA Member Associations’ Award and the Team Fans of the Year (for all FUFA Competitions like the Uganda Premier League, Big League, FUFA Women Elite League, FUFA Drum among other )’ Byamukama cited.
The 14 categories of awards that will be recognized are as follows bellow:

4 –FUFA Best XI 2019 (Women) – New
5 –FUFA Coach of the Year 2019
6 – FUFA Women Football Coach of the Year – New
7 – FUFA Presidential Award
8 – FUFA Fair Play Award 2019 (UPL)
9 – FUFA Upcoming Talent Award 2019 (FJL)
10 –FUFA Beach Soccer Player of the Year
11 –FUFA Fans’ Favorite Uganda foreign based Player
12 – Best Squad (Club/National Team) of a particular Year – New
13 – FUFA Member Associations’ Award – New
14 – Team Fans of the Year (FUFA Competitions) – New
