A shocking revelation from the FUFA symposium indicate that the federation proposed to form its own club that will compete in the Uganda Premier league.

FUFA organized the symposium in their bid to formulate what they called “a comprehensive and strategic technical plan for our Nation’s football”

According to a source who attended the symposium at the FUFA Technical Centre on Monday, the federation made the wild suggestion that raised eyebrows.

“FUFA had fronted an idea that they be allowed to form a model football club that will help in talent development,” the source who preferred anonymity revealed adding that;

“What surprised us is that the same club is meant to compete in the league like any other normal club.

“I thought that was a bit weird much as I believe the points noted at the symposium could take our football to the next level but this particular one was unheard of,” the source added.

The source revealed that a number of stakeholders present objected the idea on grounds that it would cause a conflict of interest as well as its ownership structure.

The main facilitator at the one-day event was the FUFA president Eng. Moses Magogo.
