Gaddafi Football Club head coach David Mutono has dared Vipers as the defending champions head to Jinja for their opening game of the 2023/24 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.
The Soldier Boys have undergone a massive overhaul as a majority of the squad that played for coach Wasswa Bbosa either moved with him or found greener pastures elsewhere.
Mutono has promised to put up a show in what looks to be his first major project in full capacity.
The coach believes that their return to the Gaddafi Arena inside the barracks will be pivotal as they start their new life.
“First, we want to turn the Gaddafi Arena into a den that no team will come out smiling,” he told Pulse Sports ahead of the game.
Gaddafi has played the Venoms four times in official games, losing thrice and winning once.
The coach wants to draw the memories of that win and urge his players to turn up for a result on Sunday.
“The team managed to beat Vipers at home last season, but this being at Gaddafi, it should be one that can launch our season with. The team is set and believes that every player that got the license is ready for duty, so our strength this season lies in team work,” he added.
