StarTimes Uganda Premier League side URA FC has acquired the signature of goalkeeper Denis Otim on a two-year contract.

The keeper joins after spending three years at Express, where he joined in August 2020.

He replaces the club’s former captain and first-choice goalie, Nafian Alionzi, who is rumoured to be heading to Ethiopia.

The 23-year-old is expected to face stiff competition against Rogers Omedwa, who joined from Arua Hill.

“It’s a new Challenge for me as I come at a club where there is competition which I know will push me to work harder,” the keeper acknowledged the challenge ahead.

“I want to help the club win the trophy in my first season because I am a winner and I want to keep many clean sheets,” he said.

Otim has previously featured for the Uganda Hippos and was named in the senior national team that played a three-nations tournament in Libya last year.

He becomes the seventh official new member of the Tax Collectors’ den. He has previously played for Nyamityobora and Mbarara FC as well.
