Dokolo district Woman MP Hon. Cecilia Atim Atat Barbra Ogwal Laid to Rest today, Saturday January 27th 2024 Alito village in Kole district where thousands of mourners gathered to send off the political ian lady.
The vice president of the republic of Uganda H.E Jessica Alupo represented president Museveni as the chief mourner.
Rt. Hon. Jessica said that, “Iam representing H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at this funeral ceremony of the late Hon. Cecilia Atim Ogwal the former woman MP of Dokolo district. I extend his condolence message to the bereaved family. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
The grieving husband Lamek Ogwal and children of the late Ogwal placed a wreath on her casket during the final send-off in Alito Town Council, Kole District.
Speaking to the mourners, Lameck the husband to the late said, “One thing I know is that she (the late Cecilia Ogwal) has fulfilled the agenda that God had commissioned her to do”
He added that Ogwal usually set up prayer altars at their home where they used to praise God and promised not to let her down, they shall keep them alive.”May God Bless you all for having come here today for which we are also grateful that H.E. Yoweri Kaguta accorded her an official burial.”Said Mzee Lameck Ogwal.
The leader of opposition in Parliament of uganda Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi has asked all the ugandans the best gift to remember Ogwal is to get united in the quest for a better country. He said regardless of different political parties so that they can all work for the betterment of our country because a bad country affects us all.
He added that Ogwal fought hard against corruption, poor service delivery, and human rights violations. And so advised his fellow leaders if they truly want to pay tribute to the late, they should stop practicing those ills that she fought against.
And many people gave their aggrieving messages with will leave in the memories of ugandans for the loss of such a biggest figure in the ugandan politics.

Patrick Oboi Amuriat in his said. “Mamy Cecilia taught me one thing that i should fight for something belongs to me, police stolen my shoes during presidential nominations, Her Excellency i will for them. And requesting the government to consider the resolutions made by the Dokolo local leaders special meeting. I called on all leaders who have spoken good of her to emulate her, if she truly impacted their lives.
I want to also warn the NRM that Atat was a peaceful person. Do not bring violence to the by-election of Dokolo District. Fare thee well, Imat Cecilia. “Hon. Amuriat added.
Among the thousands of mourners from allover uganda attended the final journey for the final burial ceremony in Kore district. Including Family, Members of Parliament, Ministers, the chief Justice of uganda Alfonso owiny Dollo, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon Thomas Tayebwa, Ambassadors, Government chief Whip, Vice presidents emeritus, Hon. Eduard Kiwanuka Ssekandi and Dr. Specioza Wandira Kazibwe.
Hon. Ogwal Succumbed to cancer disease on Tuesday 16th/ January/ 2024 In India where she was taken for advanced treatment.
