St Mary’s boarding School Kitende head Coach Daniel Male has warned CECAFA under 15 winners over neglecting studies.
While giving his remarks at the event which was organized to welcome back him and his team from Kenya where the clinched the CECAFA under 15 trophy

“Never settle for little you have achieved but it is not enough you have to chase for more achievements AFCON is coming and there is alot to win ahead, Also I argue you to be get cautious on your studies because it is crucial through your footballing career on how to understand contracts, address the media and public,

I also tell you that you are young but you will not play football after reaching your 40s so it will be Education after football”

The event took place on 16th December 2023 at Kitende as Schools sports power House St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende officially receives back their Under 15 boys team from Kenya where they qualified for Africa Cup via winning CECAFA regional qualifiers.

The team defeated every opponent faced from group stage to the final defeating Tanzania 4-2 on penalties following 1-1 draw for the trophy which came with one thousand dollars ($1,000)

During the process the also reached individual success with Kyakuwa Ashiraf getting named the tournament’s best player while Simon Wanyama scooped the top scorer’s accolade after netting 7 goals from 5 games.

Having qualified for the first Under 15 Africa cup schools management which was represented by School Director’s daughter Clair Mulindwa who handed each player a Hisense 32 inch TV plus heavy envelope for making St Mary’s boarding Schools Kitende proud.

She therefore asked for more. “It’s pleasure you have qualified for the Africa cup Congratulations, but your at St Mary’s Kitende, we only understand one language and it’s trophy after winning this we still want more so we want to win the Africa cup”

The under 15 Schools Africa cup is expected to take place in April with Morocco hosting the event
