The general secretary of National Council of Sports Dr. Patrick Bernard Ogwel pressed a wrong button while dealing with focused twin from Masaka in Hon. Babirye Kityo Sarah.

This is because everytime passes, the public continues to land on the dirty acts of the former Akol FC manager and former KIU tutor, Dr. Ogwel.

Since the accountability issues of the two in one tournament trip in Namibia in 2021 denied Uganda Netball Federation opportunity to receive it’s money from NCS for at least two financial years, Netball Federation president Hon Babirye Kityo Sarah tried all legal ways to see that the game of Netball and other sports disciplines get what belongs to them from NCS.

Last month, this website published the article when the IGG’s office ordered National Council of Sports to transfer all monies for Netball to their account in seven days, though till now they haven’t.

The same IGG’S office on Friday, 14th April 2023 through National Council of Sports Chairperson ordered General Secretary Dr. Patrick Bernard Ogwel to cough over 100 million shillings that he has failed to account for especially that of Namibia tournament.

“Dr. Ogwel Patrick Bernard, the general secretary of National Council of Sports received Ugx 29,719,800/- for Namibia tournament which was not spent nor accounted for and Ugx 70,556,211/- which constituted the difference on the inflated 27 air tickets procured for Namibia tournaments.” The IGG’S report findings partly reads.

The IGG’S report also ordered former Uganda Netball Federation Vice president Technical Mr. Richard Muhumuza and former treasurer Hajjati Aidah Nambuusi to account for the 30,000,000/- that was meant for Male National team the Rock that represented Uganda in Male International tournament held in South Africa in September 2021 and if they fail to do so, they were asked to deposit that money on Inspectorate of Government Asset Recovery Account in Bank of Uganda in seven days.

The issue of poor governance in UNF claimed by Ogwel was also trashed by the IGG’S report.

“Other issues regarding governance, interim court order, appointment of board of trustees, harassment of She Cranes players were found to be false.” The findings continue to reveal.
