IGP Ochola ordered AIGP Bangirana to hand over office today

The Director of Logistics and Engineering has been given up to 3:00 pm today to hand over office to his deputy.

Assistant Inspector General of Police Godfrey Bangirana was ordered by the High Court to vacate office until his case in which he is accused to occupying an office without a contract is disposed off.
According to a police source, the Inspector General of Police Martins Okoth Ochola issued the order. However, police spokesperson Fred Enanga could not confirm the order.

While meeting members of parliament on the defence and internal affairs committee on Tuesday, the Deputy Inspector General of Police Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi said that they will abide by the court order, but they were only following internal system to do it.

The State Minister for Internal Affairs Obiga Kania said AIGP Bangirana had applied for a renewal of his contract and the application was still under.

Earlier, IGP Ochola had ordered AIGP Bangirana to vacate office, but he declined and later obtained a letter of stay from Internal Affairs until his application for renewal of his contract is considered.
