INDIANS DOMINATE UGANDA PARA BADMINTON INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2024

The Uganda Para Badminton International Championship 2024 which started on Monday July 1 and climaxed Sunday July 7 at Lugogo .

The tournament that ran for seven days ,saw Indians from Asian continent dominating the Championship which was a build up for the the Para Olympics which will be held in September, this year.

218 participants from 17 countries took part in this year’s Uganda Para Badminton International and the awarding ceremony was witnessed by Indian ambassador in Uganda.

The results were as follows;

In SH6 double, Suresh Kumar and Latatai Parmeshwar of India won gold while Koami Ferdinand and Nithin Thazhe of Togo won silver.

SH6 single, Sudarsan Saravanakumar of India won gold, Nothing Thazhe of India won silver while Latatai Parmeshwar of India and Suresh Kumar of India won bronze.

SL3 -SU5 women’s doubles, Karan Paneer and Amudha Saravanan of India won gold, Surya Kant and Neeraj of India won silver while Dinesh Rajaiah and Arati Janoba of India and Harshit Choudhary and Shivangi Pandey of India won bronze.

SU5 mixed doubles, Jatin Azad and Abhijeet Sakhuja of India won gold, Ibrahim Aliyev and Karan Paneer of Azerbaijan and India won silver while Deep Ranjan and Subhrajeet Maharana and Sumith Kumar and Mahammad Shaheer both of India won bronze.

SU5 women’s singles, Arati Janoba of India won gold , Latika Latika won silver while Swati Swati of India and Sumin Mutesi of Uganda won bronze.

SU5 men’s singles, Jatin Azad of India won gold, Ibrahim Aliyev won silver while Karan Paneer and Vikram Singh both of India won bronze.

SL3 – SL4 mixed doubles, Kartik Suhag and Aman Thakur of India won gold, Chigozie Jeremiah and Obinna Nwo of India won silver while Dinesh Rajaiah and Surya Kant and Partheban Jagadeesan and Neeraj Neeraj both of India won bronze.

*SL4 mens singles, Abhijeet Sakhuja of India won gold, Surya Kant of India won silver while Harshit Choudhary and Deep Ranjan both of India won bronze.

*SL3 womens singles, Neeraj of India won gold, Maria Guadalupe of Mexico won silver while Rose Nansereko of Uganda and Amudha Saravanan of India won bronze.

SL3 men’s singles, Kartik Suhag of India won gold, Vijendra of India won silver while Dinesh Rajaiah and Balakeshavulu Jonnalagadd both of India won bronze.

WH1 -WH2 mixed doubles, Poorna Rao and Ruchi Trivedi  of India won gold, Aquelton Macedo and Juscileia Silva  of Brazil won silver while Marcelo Alves and Elizabeth Atieno of Brazil and Kenya won bronze.

WH1 – WH2 womens doubles , Juscileia Silva and Ruchi Trivedi of Brazil and India won gold, Anusha Chidananda and Shabana Shabana of India won silver while Flavia Basuuta and Sarah Naziwa of Uganda and Annah Syombua and Elizabeth Atieno of Kenya won bronze.

WH1 – WH2 mixed doubles, Marcelo Alves and Julio Cesar of Brazil won gold, Poorna Rao and Munna Khalid of India won silver while Konstantin Afinogenov and Nurul Hossain of Israel and India and Kantharajanaik Ravinaik and Haris Mythili of India won bronze.

WH2 women’s singles, Ruchi Trivedi of India won gold, Shabana Shabana of India won silver while Mary Nakhumicha of Kenya and Elizabeth Atieno of Kenya won bronze.

WH2 men’s singles, Munna Khalid of India won gold, Julio Cesar of Brazil won silver while Nurul Hossain of India and Ali Mukasa of Uganda won bronze.

WS – WH1 women’s singles, Juscileia Silva of Brazil won gold, Sarah Naziwa of Uganda won silver while Flavia Basuuta of Uganda and Anusha Chidananda of India won bronze.

WH1 men’s singles, Konstantin Afinogenov of Israel won gold, Marcelo Alves of Brazil won silver while Poorna Rao of India and Kantharajanaik Ravinaik of India both won bronze.
