Invest more time in your business if you are to get good harvests – Katikkiro Mayiga challenges people of Kalungu

The Buganda Premier Owek Charles Peter Mayiga has challenged people to invest more time in things that they focus so that they can yield to their expectations for the development of their livelihoods.

The Katikkiro noted this as he had joined St. Kizito Kyamuliibwa Mugigi Primary school as they were celebrating 25 years of service.

Owek Mayiga said that many people don’t want to wait for better harvests which has made many fail to yield from the investments that they start. He noted that giving enough time to things that people start help them gain better harvests. He commended parents who invest in their children’s education through providing whatever they need at school saying that it gives children bright hope for their future.

In her speech being read by Owek Ronald Bbaale Mugera, the minister of education in Buganda kingdom Owek Cotilda Nakate Kikomeko advised parents to endeavor to apply for Buganda Kingdom bursaries especially for good performing pupils and students so that they can take advantage of the offers from the kingdom.

Kalungu West MP Hon. Gonzaga Ssewungu expressed the need for the government to increase on the education budget in UPE schools so that pupils can get what they require to get from such schools.

The minister of water in the central government Aisha Ssekindi commended the Catholic Church for starting several private schools which has boosted the education system. However, she challenged politicians against discouraging people from using UPE system yet many people have benefitted from it.

The school headteacher Josephine Naggayi revealed that the school planted coffee to help support the school income and they have plans to construct teacher’s quarters so that they reduce on the expenditure spent on paying for teachers rent.

The function started with Thanksgiving service that was led by Archbishop of Masaka diocese Bishop Serverus Jjumba.
