The State House Investors Protection Unit has warned investors who don’t want to give government officials chance to inspect their factories to stop, since government has to know whatever takes place in their factories.

This concern was given by the head of State House Investors Protection Unit Col Edith Nakalembe as she had met different companies spokespersons to show them how the new platform that was initiated by the president which is known as the Electronic Investors’ Portal works.

Col Nakalembe noted that the investors act of stopping government officials from inspecting their factories is wrong since it is these officials who have to inform the public about the products from these factories and as well find out how these factories help to reduce the rate of unemployment in the country.

She added that company spokespersons act as a link that informs the public about what takes place in the government and asked them to use their experience in informing the public how the Electronic Investors Protection Portal is used.

However she noted that investors have been challenged by conmen who take money from them without rendering services and expressed that they are to work with different organisations to see that investors in the country carry on their work smoothly and they have so far worked on over 186 complaints from the investors.

Spokespersons who attended this engagement promised to promote this platform so that people can make good use of it without being conned. These spokespersons represented organisations such as National Agricultural research organisation NARO, Uganda Revenue Authority URA, among others.

This platform was initiated on 26/07/2023 with an aim of finding solutions to the challenges faced by investors in the country through acquiring proper documents to permit them establish their factories.
