For habitual smugglers, it is obvious that they have an idea of URA enforcement operations including their known vehicles that they use during interceptions.

However, URA staff have not given up the fight against the vice.

In Jinja, the only tactic the team applied was to change a vehicle. This gave comfort to the smugglers not to use porous routes but rather the main road through Isimba bridge to Kampala.

They were caught. Although they later fled, their vehicle, a super custom, registration number UBC 149B, was impounded fully loaded with contraband laptops and other items.

These included;334 pieces of used laptops, 1 piece of new drone, 8 pieces of desktop computers,71 pieces of used iPhone and Samsung phones, assorted medicines and supplements,7 packages of pure white Lucky grain sugar.

Since interception, no one has come to claim the goods yet.
