It will be the second time when team Uganda sends participants to participate in the Nairobi Grand race.
This year’s Nairobi Grand race will take place on 29, September at Kenyatta International Convention centre .
At the press launch held today at Sanyuka Restaurant at Bulange, Mmengo, Jubilee Insurance confirmed the sponsorship of 31 million shillings towards the event.
Nairobi Grand race is the biggest event in the region of East Africa where over 0ne thousands participants get involved in the event.
According to Dr Amon Salama , CEO of Jubilee Insurance, the company will still continue supporting the event for the development of the game.
According to Tony Katumba from Moon Light Cycling, team Uganda will leave on 27, September for Nairobi and they will reach on 28, September to get ready for the race on 29, September.
Team Uganda will send 50 participants for this year’s race while Kenya will send more than one thousands participants and the winners gets cash money as prize money.
Ugandan, Paul Lomuria under Kenya riders won the last year’s race and among the top 4 winners last year, Uganda had three riders.
The main race will be of 60 km while Black Mamba will be of 48 km and the routes will include; Uhuru highway, Lang’ata road, parts of upper hills and Haile Selassie.
