Kabaka To Grace 2023 Bika Bya Baganda Football, Netball Tournament Opener

The 2023 Bika bya Baganda Football and Netball tournament has been launched on Wednesday at Bulange Mengo in Kampala.

The 49th edition will kick off on 13th May 2023 and the opening games will be held at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku where the last edition’s finals were held.

His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II will grace the opening game at Wankulukuku ad it was confirmed by the Buganda Kingdom spokesperson Owek. Noah Kiyimba.

“I call upon the Buganda Kingdom people to come and grace the opening game that will be graced by His Majesty Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.” Said Owek.Kiyimba

Bika Bya’baganda organizing committee chairman Hajji Sulaiman Magala asserted that they are well prepared for the 2023 edition

“As the organisers we are well prepared for the opening game.” We urge all the clans to register early on 5th May for better preparations of this year’s edition.”

The opening game will be between Nkima and Ngabi Ensamba both in Netball and Football.

The official launch will be held on Monday, 8th May with the Katikkiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga expected to grace the event. Inspection of the stadium will be held on 9th May.

Ndiga Clan are the Bika football defending champions following their triumph over Lugave in the previous edition.

In Netball, Ngeye are the reigning champions after prevailing over record winners Mamba Namakaka.
