Early results in the scramble for the top positions of the ruling National Resistance Movement’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) on Thursday indicate that Speaker Rebecca Kadaga is firmly leading her challenger, the determined state minister for Lands Persis Namuganza.

Ms Namuganza had out of the blue decided to take on Ms Kadaga, and seemed to be giving her a bloody nose as Thursday’s afternoon results trickled in — winning the eastern district of Bulambuli, and Bushenyi in the west.

But Ms Kadaga has since taken a comfortable lead wining bi in most of the Central and Eastern districts — including Lyantonde, Kanungu, Yumbe, Kabale, Kasese, Kamwenge and her home district of Kamuli.

Helse where, Salim Uhuru looks like contesting out the current CEC member for Kampala region Mr. Godfrey Nyakana the thing which seem to have annoyed him and exchanged necked knuckles with one one of Uhuru’s agent during the process.

The chairman NRMO electoral commission Dr. Tango Odoi condemned such kind of behaviors.

New comer Dr. Chris Baryomunsi seems headed for victory in the race for the NRM Vice Chairman for Western Region and is set to out incumbent Maj. Gen. Matayo Kyaligonza.
