The speaker of kannungu district Frank Byaruhanga has been dragged to different goverment offices for disciplinary actions through petitions to the government following allegations that he grabbed some public land in Kannungu district .

The district resident who is behind the allegations is one, Solomon Mubangizi, aresident of Kabirizi village, Bejengwe parish of Kayonza subcounty in kannungu district. He found out that the district speaker Frank Byaruhanga was in quick preparations to grab government land in Mushorero village, Kayonza Sub county, on 15th February 2023, then  petitioned the IGG to stop this illegal action by the District Speaker.

The IGG investigated the matter and confirmed that the mentioned land of 33 acres of the tea estate at musherero belongs to the government. And on 7th August 2023, the IGG ordered the district CAO to evict Byaruhanga from the land but until now, the action has never been taken, and Byaruhanga is still using the land.

The Deputy RDC of Kannungu district Gad Lugaju has comfirmed the land grabbing case by the district speaker Frank Byaruhanga and noted that any time from now, he will be evicted from the said land.
