Residents of maliba in kasese district have expressed dissatisfaction towards government for failure to respond to their call for repairing of the road that connects from Maliba to Kitwamba, which has greatly disorganized their businesses.

According to the residents, Maliba is one of the areas which can easily be accessed by the people in the area for food stuff but the road is making it hard for them to access them.

Residents of Maliba subcounty say that they are resorting to using human labor since waiting for government’s response is in vain.

The chairman Lc1 Kinyabwamba Firimoni Bibirya has called upon the government to respond since this road has been used for easy transport for all people in the area including business people,  yet the only bridge in the area can only accommodate motor cycles.

Head added that the road is too small that it needs to be widened, but however much they call upon the government, there is no response.

Mayor Hima town council Hilder Businge Maate said she has received calls from business people reporting about the bridge and the poor roads and what she could do was only to provide them with marram as they wait for the government’s response.

The area councillor Mbambu Sofia said that Hima river has also been inconveniencing the businesses in the area after several times of flooding but still no response from gavument.

One of the residents Mwase Joel has called upon the residents in the area to join hands and work for the good of their area, other than waiting for the government.
