Following the clan leaders’ meeting with the president of Uganda seeking for help on buying land for their development without following the right protocal from the kingdom, the Buganda Prime minster Owek Charles Peter Mayiga has assured buganda kingdom people that no one can ever succeed in dividing the kingdom.

According to the kingdom, the bataka’s action of meeting the president with out seeking permission from the kingdom is an indicator that they want to divide the kingdom which is unacceptable.

Speaking to the lukiiko members during the first sitting of the 31 lukiiko, responding to the questions being asked by the members, the Katikkiro emphasized that no one can ever attempt and succeed in dividing the kingdom through any means, thereby noting that whatever engagement the bataka had with the president was on their own but not on behalf of the kingdom.

Owek. Mayiga dismissed allegations that the president bought land for the bataka for the construction of their offices saying that they already have offices where they run their work and different activities.

He challenged the group of bataka who went to met the president without following the right protocol noting that none of the clan leaders stand on his/her own but only have to fulfill responsibilities as assigned by the King. And emphasized that the kingdom is yet to set a committee to look through the matter of the bataka who met the president and the committee will decide on their fate.

However, the Katikkiro has called upon the kingdom legal department to respond to the Kabaka’s call through looking through the land cases that are taking took long to be heard in court so that they can be heard for people to get justice about issues concerning land.
