Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga commends women leaders in Buganda as Women MPs, Buddu County honour Luwalo project

The Katikkiro of Buganda Owekitiibwa Charles Peter Mayiga has commended women members of parliament from different parts of Buganda for responding to Kabaka’s call anytime the need arises.

He says that this is an indicator that the kingdom has people who work towards its development.

Speaking to the congregation from the five Sub counties that make up Buddu county, in Buganda kingdom, who had come to hand over their Luwalo contribution to the Katikkiro at bulange Mengo, the Katikkiro said that women leaders getting involved into the kingdom developmental issues, is an indicator that the kingdom has hope for further development.

He adds that women are very focused and developmental, welcoming the women MPs who were among the congregation to continue responding to the kingdom call.

Minister in charge of local government in Buganda Kingdom Owekitiibwa Joseph Kawuki, has encouraged women members of parliament to continue advocating for Buganda’s federal system as it will help the kingdom to smoothly run its own business.

The Luwero woman MP Brenda Nabukenya has promised to continuously advocate for whatever belongs to the kingdom to be returned.

Among the women MPs who have attended the function include; Luwero woman MP Brenda Nabukenya, Dr. Ndiwalana Christine for Bukomansimbi North, Joan Namutaawe for Masaka district, Tereza Nambooze for Mpigi District, Hellen Nakimuli  for Kalangala district among others, and they have contributed 2 million shillings towards the Kingdom development.

Buddu County have contributed 17 million as their contribution in the luwalo project.
