Katikkiro launches New BUCADEF board

 The Buganda Premier Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga has appealed to the New Buganda Cultural Development Foundation (BUCADEF) board to put in efforts to encourage the youth, women and children to engage in Coffee growing as a way of improving on their livelihoods.

While launching the New BUCADEF board at Bulange Mengo, Owek. Mayiga commended the outgoing board which was led by Ishaka Lukenge for the commitment and creativity towards serving the kingdom noting reviving the kingdom agricultural sector especially through coffee growing.

Minister in charge of agriculture, cooperation and business in Buganda kingdom, Owek. Haji Hamis Kakomo has also appreciated the outgoing board for the contribution towards the kingdom development and appealed to the new board to try all means to see that BUCADEF sustains itself financially so that it can take on its own financial development without seeking for support as they serve the kingdom.

Former Board Chairperson Ishaka Lukenge has commended the King for giving him and the outgoing board chance to serve the kingdom and as well commended the Katikkiro for supporting them during their serving period, through advising them in different aspects of work. He pledged that they are willing to continue serving the kingdom together with the new board.

The appointed Chairperson for the new board Benon Ssekamatte has expressed gratitude towards the King for giving them such responsibilities and pledged that they are to serve whole heartedly. He added that it’s the board’s responsibility to educate people in Buganda about their culture and norms so that they understand it more.

The new appointed BUCADEF board consists of the Chairman Benon Ssekamatte, his deputy Saul Kaye, and other members including Erias Luyimbaazi Nalukoola, Edward Ssenkindu, Rossette Nabbumba Nayenga, Jenah Kirabo Nyende, and Doctor Emma Naluyima.
