KCCA FC are through to the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 after negotiating past Big League side Jinja North FC in the round of 32.
The Kasasiro Boys, who are joint record winners of the League Cup alongside Express FC, now stand a more realistic chance to try and claim their 13th title.
To advance to the Uganda Cup round of 16, KCCA scored two unanswered goals I’m the first half courtesy of Muhammad Shaban and Saidi Mayanja.
KCCA’s in-form marksman Shaban put the visitors ahead, as early as just the second minute of the game at Kakindu stadium in Jinja, and Saidi Mayanja doubled the Lugogo-based side’s lead in the 26th minute.
Shaban’s goal against the Big League side in the League Cup is now his third in just two games so far in the competition.
The sharp shooter also netted twice as the Kasasiro Boys beat Mbale-based side Bugisu United (former Admin FC) 2-0 at the round of 64.
KCCA now joins Pajule Lions, Express, Vipers, Police, Young Simba, and Kitara on the list of teams that have so far reached the last 16.
