KENYANS REVENGE AGAINST UGANDANS AS KAMPALA CLUB SQUASH CHAMPIONSHIP CLIMAXED

This year’s Kampala Club Championship climaxed on Saturday at Kampala Club Squash arena with the Kenyans dominating the tournament.

The Kenyans revenged against Ugandans whom they lost in last year’s both in mens and ladies final.Jane Njeri who lost to Ugandan last year,won this year’s ladies final after defeating upcoming star Myra Muyonjo, who is only 14 years old .

Muyonjo, a Ugandan staying in USA  put up a good fight but was not able to overcome experienced Jane Njeri who is seed number three in Kenya . Jane won the game with 2:0 sets in best of three and walked away with 600,000 shilling as a prize money for ladies category while Muyonjo walked away with 300,000 as runners up.

“I tried my best but she was more experienced than me but am going back to train hard and i will come back again here when am very different Muyonjo”, Myra states.According Jane, she said that it was a revenge  for what happened last year when i lost my final to a Ugandan.While in the men’s category, Kenyan James Dalidi ,also revenged to Paul Kasirye Kadoma who defeated him last year.

Dalidi, did the same what Kadoma did to him last year, he defeated Kadoma 3:2 sets in the best of five , the same margin Kadoma ,won last year.

Dalidi, walked away with 1.2 million shilling as the prize money for the mens winner while Kadoma, walked away with 800,000 as runners up. “Last year, i lost the final because of minor mistakes which i worked on this time”, Dalidi states.

While Kadoma, puts his failure to win the final due to injury he got in the last set which forced even forced the referee to stop the game for almost 10 minutes.
