Artiste Eddie Kenzo has said that he has decided to forgive Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata for the remarks the outspoken cleric is alleged to have made about the former’s failed marriage with Rema Namakula.

During the introduction of Rema’s new lover Hamza Ssebunya on Independence Day, Sheikh Muzaata is alleged to have rebuked Kenzo for taking Rema for granted, insinuating that the artiste may be gay.

The alleged remarks threw Kenzo into a rage, with the artiste vowing not to perform in Uganda until the cleric apologized.

But speaking after returning to the country on Tuesday, Kenzo said he decided to forgive Sheikh Muzaata basing on the Islamic teachings, which preach about forgiveness as emphasized by Prophet Muhammed.

“If you have cleared your heart, God will always have your back. You have to do what Prophet Muhammad did and what Jesus taught. So as a true believer, I have decided to forgive the sheikh,” said Kenzo.

He stated that it is now up to Muzaata as ”an elderly person” to apologize or not. He also asked his fans to follow suit because it’s not worth it.

Sources close to the two indicate that Muzaata had personally reached out to Kenzo and that the two had spoken and ironed out issues between them.

Kenzo returned home with an award for emerging the best entertaining artiste in Africa during the African Entertainment Awards held in the US over the weekend.

The Minister of Ethics and Integrity, Rev Fr Simon Lokodo, last week said he will institute an ad hoc committee to study the ongoing feud between Kenzo and Sheikh Muzaata.
