As all set for Uganda Golf pro Open 24th October 2023 brought a huge turn from Juniors Women’s and Amateur opens with Absa Pro Am.
The Absa Pro Am is an event which combines both Genders at Amateur and Professional Golfers.
The event took place at Uganda Golf Course and stormed by Marvin Kibirige and John Walker two team.
Kibirige to win Individual even he recorded 42 points ahead of Denis Anguyo and Edwin Mudanyi on 40 points on the pro chart.
Ronald Rugumayo and Pauline Kasoma also finished in top five leveling on 39 points
On Amatuer side Michael K Tumusiime topped the chart with 44 points followed by Paul Habyarimana at 43, Ivan Arinaitwe and Patricia Mbabazi both counting 40 as Emma Tayebwa completing the top five.
The top five of Amateurs and Pro’s shall take part at Magical Kenya Open with Absa Bank powering the trip.
Meanwhile John Walker two a team which had Ronald Rugumayo, Paul Habyarimana, Daniel Kalimuzo and Sammy Migunda sumed 115 points to take the team event.
As a winning pro Ronald Rugumayo hinted on becoming the first Ugandan to win the Uganda Golf Pro Open since 2014.
“I feel like a Ugandan can win this year’s Open it has been a while without getting a Ugandan winner now I am here to win it. This year is ours, this Pro Am has helped us to find out on what we can work on”
Managing Director Mumba Kalifungwa played at managed 30 ponts.
