Kibuli Secondary School successfully defended their Kampala Secondary Schools boys football title in the final held at their own soil on Friday April 12th 2024.
Kawempe Muslim took the lead through Alvin Kitibwa in the opening stanza before Kibuli restored parity in the subsequent half through Alfred Ssebunya.
In the dramatic shoot-out, Kibuli Secondary School won 7-6 to reclaim the title they had also won in 2023 at Mengo Secondary School playground.
The third place-play off was won by Kakungulu Memorial Secondary School, winning 1-0 over Uganda Martyrs Lubaga.
Jonathan Ebong scored a brace for Kakungulu Memorial Secondary School.
The girl’s final was won by Uganda Martyrs 1-0 over Kawempe Muslim courtesy of Latifah Nakasi’s goal.
Highland SS beat Gaddafi Integrated Secondary School 1-0 to win bronze.
Lydia Namaseruka scored the all important goal for Highland Secondary School.
The successful schools will represent Kampala region at the 2024 USSSA finals in Masaka (Boys football) and Luweero (Girls football).
In Girls football, Kawempe region will be represented by Uganda Martyrs (champion), Kawempe Muslim SS and Highland SS who beat Gaddafi Integrated Academy 1-0 on the 3rd place playoff.
In boys football, the region shall have; Kibuli SS (Champion), Kawempe Muslim SS, Kakungulu Memorial, Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga and Old Kampala (who are still pending).
