Kigezi, Teso game rescheduled as West Nile trash Buganda to reach 2023 FUFA Drum semi-finals

Defending champions West Nile eliminated inaugural champions Buganda 3-2 on aggregate following on 1-0 win in the return leg game played at Kavumba Recreation grounds in Wakiso town council on Sunday November 12th, in the quarter finals of the FUFA Drum.

Thanks to Gaddafi Wahab’s lonely goal of the day when he converted the ball from Jeriga Atendere in t39th minute of the game into the Buganda’s net which separated the two FUFA Drum giants as they tie on a 2-2 on aggregate result from the first leg.

It was a sweet revenge to what happened in 2018 when Buganda Province defeated West Nile 2-1 on aggregate in a two legged final to be crowned the inaugural champions.

Viane Ssekajugo scored both goals while West Nile’s goal was scored by Villa Oromchan.

Meanwhile, the other FUFA Drum Quarter final game between Kigezi and Teso get postponed over flooding at Kihihi high school playground.

The game which is still in control of Teso following a 2-1 first leg win shall take action with return leg on Monday 13th November 2023.

The last edition it was a two legged final which saw West Nile defeat Lango 3-2on aggregate to be crowned champions of the third edition.
