KK Memorial boxing Event: Joy Vegas Lubega, Yusuf Babu Back In action

For a while, Yusuf Babu one of the world be the best boxers on the land and Joy Vegas Lubega have been out of the ring but the launch of KK Memorial Championship is set to bring them back.

Baltic Pro Box Promotions has launched the KK Memorial Championship on Friday at Lugogo, the event that’s aiming at remembering the fallen boxers turned coaches.

The event that is aiming at Celebrating the lives of departed coaches in Zebra Mando Ssenyange, Dick Katende aka The Tiger, Musa Kent among others, will be held on 28th April 2023 at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

“The legends believed in boxing not only as a sport disciple but also they devoted their lives in nurturing boxers from grass roots to the top so as a result, the boxers within Uganda and those in diaspora under their flagship (Boxing team united) came together to organize an annual event in memory of beloved coaches.” The promoter said.

In this case over 14 bouts are set to happen on that day and the men to watch is Joey Fabulous Vegas Lubega who will be boxing Tanzanian national, Kaminja Ramadhan  in Cruiserweight with 10 Rounds and Yusuf Babu who has been off the scene will return in the ring while playing against Yannick Manda from DR. Congo in Heavy weight 10 Rounds

“I’m training so hard. I’m not minimizing my opponent . My dream is to become a champion. So these are the steps being taken in order to become a champion in Uganda . So I’m training tough, so I’m not in fear or I don’t fear anything if it comes to boxing nothing I can do exception of fighting .” Says Babu at the launch.
