The central organising committee of the Kyabazinga’s Royal wedding have dismissed claims by the National Unity Platform President Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu that he was blocked from attending the Kyabazinga’s wedding which took place on 18/11/2023 saying, he was blocked by President Museveni, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, and their security.

This comes after Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu (Bobi Wine) adressed the press at his party headquarters in Makerere Kavule and alleged that he did not attend the Busoga Royal Wedding because President Museveni, his son Muhoozi Kainerugaba, and their security blocked him.

Kyagulanyi added that the Busoga Premier Dr. Joseph Muvawala had invited him and his team publicly. “I was out of the country, but I made sure to be back on November 17 at night to attend the wedding, but at the very last minute I was informed that Mr. Museveni and his son plus their security had put an order that I cannot be at that function,” said Bobi Wine.

Addressing the press at Serena Hotel in Kampala, Chairperson of the Central Organizing Committee for the Busoga Royal Wedding, Eng. Patrick Batumbya, said that no one was blocked from attending the Kyabazinga’s Royal wedding since it was open to everyone.

“We want to state categorically that the Embaga ya Mwenemu was not political. We invited all politicians, and none were blocked,” Batumbya emphaised.

In the same way, the MK Movement led by Igara County East MP, Hon. Michael Magara Mawanda, dismissed the same claims and warned Bobi Wine and his party against blackmail, name-calling, insults, and telling lies about people who seemingly disagree with his political views.

“The MK Movement therefore condemns this act in the strongest terms possible and asks Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu to apologize to the people of Busoga, friends of Busoga, His Royal Highness the Kyabazinga, and Inebantu,” said Mawanda.
