Bugema stunned reigning University Football league champions Kyambogo 2-0 in the first leg of the epic quarterfinal at Bugema playground.
Bugema University skipper Lucky Kasajja netted a brace and missed a penalty as his side took the first leg advantage.
The latter had missed from 12 yards in the 5th minute of the game before firing his side into the lead in the 33rd minute.
Five minutes to halftime, Kasajja doubled last year’s semifinalists advantage. The home side went in the halftime break with a comfortable 2-0 lead.
In the second period, Kyambogo’s Anorld Mwanje had his effort hit the side net in the 63rd minute.
By the end of the game, Kyambogo couldn’t break down a resilient and organised Bugema University side.
The return leg is slated for next week at Kyambogo University.
Action will resume on Friday 13th as Busitema University welcome UCU.
