Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has reportedly come to an agreement with Bayern Munich over a move to Allianz Arena during this summer’s transfer window.

The 33-year-old’s future has recently been the subject of much speculation, with Bayern said to be desperate to secure his services ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

Walker has another 12 months left to run on his contract in Manchester, and Man City are keen to sign him to a new contract, with the England international still viewed as an important player by head coach Pep Guardiola.

However, Bayern head coach Thomas Tuchel is thought to have identified the right-back as a leading target, as he attempts to put together a side capable of challenging for the 2023-24 Champions League.

According to The Athletic, Walker has now come to a verbal agreement with the Munich giants over a move to the club during the summer market.

The report claims that a fee has not been agreed between the two clubs, but Bayern are believed to be willing to pay £15m for the defender.

German journalist Florian Plettenberg has allegedly decided to make the move to Allianz Arena this summer for a new challenge at this stage of his career.

Plettenberg claims that Tuchel has been key in convincing Walker to move to Munich, with the two clubs now set to begin discussions over a fee.

Walker was again a key player for Man City during the 2022-23 campaign, featuring on 39 occasions in all competitions, contributing one assist in the process.

Walker made the move to Etihad Stadium from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2017, and he has represented the Manchester club on 254 occasions, scoring six goals and registering 18 assists in the process.

The right-back has been key to Man City’s success in recent years, helping the team win five Premier League titles, two FA Cup trophies, four EFL Cup crowns and the Champions League.

Guardiola’s side have made one signing during the summer market, bringing in Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea to boost their midfield department.

The Citizens are also said to be working on a deal for RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol, which would, in theory, make it more difficult for Walker to secure regular starts during the 2023-24 campaign.
