Kyobe Jonah missed his first Boxing Champions League fight due to illness as the tournament continues to shine

African boxing bronze medalist,  Jonah Kyobe,  a feather weight boxer missed his first fight in the second season of the boxing champions league.

Kyobe,  who was supposed to fight against Murungi Kassim on Saturday 1st July 2023 at Club Obligato in the main fight on the menu,  ruled out due fever illness and was relaced by Mutajazi boxing club’s Henry Kimuli,  who defeated Kyobe at Sam Lukanga’s 30 anniversary boxing championship.

Kimuli, who started well but relaxed in the fourth round allowing East Coast’s Murungi to knock him out.

Meanwhile, in the other boughts on day;  former Ladies bomber’s captain Emily Nakalema defeated Erina Namutebi by a split decision 3:2 judges in the welter weight category,  Richard Kasujja defeated Depark Mawanda by 3:2 judges,  and in the youth category;  Mutajjazi’s Ibrahim Khemis defeated Speare Muluya in the 57 kg category,  Mark Lukomaji stopped Amos Lame in the 3rd round and Emna Luo defeated Ivan Mwagazi by 4:1 judges and in the Juniors,  Samuel Nsubuga stopped J. Nuwanguzi in round 1,  Rashid Lukomwa defeated Chris Buule by unanimous decision as Timothy Mutambi defeated Hashim Onyango by 4:1 judges decision.

The Boxing Champions league will resume next week on Saturday at the venue not yet confirmed as it’s usually organized ever after two weeks.
